Celebrating 25 Years!!
While the rest of the world was busy celebrating St. Patrick’s Day back in 1987, Galen Riggs was occupied pursuing his dream to become a business owner. Galen and RoJean Riggs started Accounting Services of York, LLC and spent the next 21 years serving businesses of all shapes and sizes, as well as individuals, throughout York and the surrounding counties.
Providing the full gamut of services—accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, and, of course, tax preparation—the staff of the family-owned and operated business has a combined 75 years of accounting experience. They truly possess a finesse for finances. Each task is approached with the same, simple mindset: Do it right the first time or don’t do it at all.”
When Galen Riggs retired at the end 2008, his son David assumed his father’s former position of leadership. Though formally retired, Galen has stayed on board to oversee the transition as well as continue to smile and serve his friends, what other companies may call clients. With this kind of approach, throughout the last 25 years, it makes sense that nearly 80% of their clients have come to Accounting Services of York by word of mouth. And David has taken great delight in continuing the mindset of treating everyone as a friend.
With degrees in accounting and marketing David Riggs brings a wide range of skills to the table and is currently pursuing his Enrolled Agent (EA) tax designation. In addition to upgrading the technology systems at ASY, David has tightened Internet security and in-house confidentiality procedures and practices to ensure that clients’ information is protected for the short term and the long term.
With strong analytical, technological, financial and administrative skills, David Riggs is a true problem solver who manages to retain his sense of humor. He and the rest of the staff, an in-house Payroll Specialist and Office Manager/Bookkeeping Guru, take great pride in greeting and treating their clients as friends and family, and have heard on many occasion that they are “not your normal accounting office.”
Integrity, honesty, knowledge and talent make this team a strong ally to have in your corner whether it is only for tax season or year-round accounting services. We’ve enjoyed 25 years in this community and look forward the 25 more while keeping to what has become a mantra: We’ll do what we do so you can do what you do.
