As is the case every year, the IRS will continue to pay some refunds throughout the year – even through December.
As of today, looking at the statics of tax returns recently filed, below are estimated of the percentage of refunds not yet released by the IRS:
– for returns filed 06/08 and prior, most refunds have been released by the IRS.
– for returns filed 06/09 – 07/13, approximately 10% have not yet been released by the IRS.
– for returns filed 07/14 – 07/16, approximately 15% have not yet been released by the IRS.
– for returns filed 07/17 – 08/05, approximately 20% have not yet been released by the IRS.
– for returns filed 08/06 – 08/10, approximately 25% have not yet been released by the IRS.
– for returns filed 08/11 – 08/18, approximately 30% have not yet been released by the IRS.
– for returns filed 08/19 – 08/20, approximately 35% have not yet been released by the IRS.
– for returns filed 08/21 – 08/26, approximately 40% have not yet been released by the IRS.
– for returns filed 08/27 – 08/27, approximately 45% have not yet been released by the IRS.
– for returns filed 08/28 and beyond, the IRS has released very few refunds.
