February 17, 2011 – The Future of RALs
Over the past year, various federal agencies have raised concerns related to RALs. These concerns prompted several large banking organizations to discontinue RAL products, and others to discontinue bank products altogether. Earlier this month, all the remaining banks that continue to offer RAL products, including Refund Advantage, were instructed by the FDIC to stop offering RALs. As a result, we currently anticipate that RALs will no longer be offered by anyone following the end of the current filing season. As you already know, H&R Block did not offer RALs this season at all.
As we look forward to next year, we are excited that we will be providing a full range of other products in 2012, and beyond.
